PAYBOOK SUPPORT
There is a next step.Let’s find yours.
A question about your first setup, a pay calculation, or the way your team works? Start here.
01Getting started
Is Paybook for hair salons or nail salons?
Both. Paybook supports hair and nail salon workflows, with services and pay terms you can configure for your team. Start with the way your salon already works.
Do I need an iPad, or more than one device?
One iPhone or iPad is enough to start. A shared iPad can give staff a convenient place to enter sales, but a second device is optional. Private iCloud sync is available if you choose to use multiple devices with the same Apple Account.
How do I get the app?
Email us to ask about early access and current installation options. We will add the direct App Store link when the public listing is available.
What is the price?
Planned launch pricing: free forever for solo use with one employee; $24.99 per month for teams, with unlimited staff and a 30-day trial. There are no per-staff tiers. Check the offer shown in the app when subscribing.
02Daily work & payday
Can each person have different pay rules?
Yes. Set a salon default, then configure each person’s own pay terms, including commission, hourly pay, or a salary floor where appropriate. Check a sample calculation before your first real payday.
How does a staff member open My Pay?
On the staff home screen, tap your own name to open your work screen. Choose My Pay, then enter your own PIN. My Pay is a read-only view of that person’s earnings and paid receipts; it does not open the owner’s payroll workspace.
Why can the pay total differ from a simple commission calculation?
The result depends on the selected period, the person’s pay terms, tips, deductions, and any tips already taken. Open the person’s payroll detail and follow the breakdown back to the saved entries.
Does marking a period paid send money or file taxes?
No. Paybook calculates and keeps records. Pay the person outside the app, then confirm the paid status and keep the receipt. Paybook does not transfer wages, process card payments, or file taxes.
03Local tools & your data
Do I need an AI account or an API key?
No. The five built-in guided tools—Payroll, Appointments, Enter sales, Look up, and Insights—are the starting point and work locally. A personal API key is an optional addition for open-ended chat. The connected provider may charge for that usage.
Can I keep working without internet?
You can record sales and calculate pay on the device without a connection. Updating records between devices through iCloud requires internet. Optional connected AI also needs a connection.
Where are the salon’s records stored?
Records live on your Apple device and in your private iCloud container when sync is enabled. If you enable a connected AI provider, the scoped context used for a request is sent to that provider. Built-in guided tools do not need that connection.
What should I do before changing devices?
Export a current backup from Setup and keep it somewhere you can access independently of the old device. Check your records on the new device before retiring the old one. If you use iCloud sync, confirm the same Apple Account and allow the records to finish updating.
Accessibility support
We are improving this website toward WCAG 2.2 Level AA. This is a goal, not a certification of conformance. Interface screenshots can be difficult to read at small sizes; Learn Paybook includes written steps and captures you can enlarge.
If something is difficult to use, send the page address, what you wanted to do, and your browser or assistive technology. Please leave out payroll records and employee details.

Tell us what you were trying to do, what happened, and whether you are using an iPhone or iPad. For a pay-rule question, a made-up example is enough to begin.
